Found the complete studio recordings of the mighty Zep on clearance at Sam Goody this afternoon (closing up shop at the local mall). Life is good... for me at least. I told a buddy about my good fortune at the "record store". He looked at me like I had three heads. Do people not refer to these places as record stores anymore?

The Lesson

The oft' anthologized short story The Lesson by Toni Cade Bambara expresses an African American girl's growing awareness of poverty and inequality. It's a great example of first person narration: Slyvia's sassy attitude brilliantly pops off the page.
