Help is on the way ...
Just not yet...give us a couple days to get our shit together ... hope you don't die out there in the stench and heat.... BBC NEWS quotes from ABC TV interview with Bush this morning, and these are the president's words (emphasis mine): "I don't think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees. They did appreciate a serious storm but these levees got breached and as a result much of New Orleans is flooded and now we're having to deal with it and will." Mr. President, you are flat out, stone-cold wrong. The levee breaches have not only been anticipated, they've been predicted FOR YEARS. And what did your administration do about it? Less than squat. These boneheaded words will haunt the administration, and if there was any justice, a people's tribunal would be filing charges for gross incompetence, criminal negligence, colossal failure of leadership, poor planning, poor coordination, failed execution, and abandonment of the public trust. This administration all along has been much more concerned with the public relations spin of the day than with reality. The president also said this: "I hope people don't play politics at this time of a natural disaster the likes of which this country has never seen." Yeah, you better hope (and pray), because any way you slice this politically, your ass is grass. Never forget that for two days (during and after the hurricane hit), this president was doing political photo ops instead of staying glued to the situation.
Now the hard rain is falling...and...wait a minute....this just in ... it's officially confirmed .... hell IS breaking loose. Welcome to the Long Emergency.

1 Comments:
A massive hurricane is approaching and nobody gives a second thought as to whether the levees will hold? That smells like bullshit.
